Hi, I’m Alayna.

I’m a creative, storyteller, licensed creative arts therapist, and experience-maker passionate about creating spaces where people feel seen, inspired, and connected.

Through Alayna Hester Creative, I design creative experiences, experiential activations, workshops, and programming that center the stories, creativity, and lived experiences of Black women and girls. My work lives at the intersection of art, culture, storytelling, wellness, and community—because I believe the most meaningful experiences don’t just look beautiful. They make you feel something.

What makes my approach unique is the intersection of my creative and therapeutic background. As a Licensed Creative Arts Therapist with a background in drama therapy, I understand the power of creativity, storytelling, embodiment, and self-expression to help people connect more deeply with themselves and each other. My experience spans therapeutic programming, community engagement, theater, facilitation, and creative experiences—allowing me to approach every project with both imagination and intention.

My work has included developing and facilitating creative programming, working directly with young people and communities, creating original therapeutic theater, and designing experiential workshops that invite participants to explore identity, culture, and personal storytelling. As a researcher and facilitator, I’ve also explored the relationship between Black women, identity, and hair, which inspired the development of my experiential workshop and platform, What’s Your Hairstory?

At my core, I’m someone who believes deeply in the power of creating spaces where people can show up fully as themselves. I bring both creative vision and human-centered intention to everything I create.
